Travis Curtright, PhD is Founder and Director of Shakespeare in Performance, a minor of studies and acting troupe at Ave Maria University. To provide his students and program a home, the Donahue Family Black Box Theater was designed and completed in 2019. This facility includes a 137 seat theater, a spacious green room, dressing rooms, prop closet, control room, and a box office. Its thrust stage features built-in seating on the left and right of the platform, creating multiple and unconventional sight lines for audiences. Live theater, transformative experience, and making Shakespeare anew! We are committed to sharing Shakespeare with the young; to creative adaptations of his plays; and to arts education as a transformative experience.
